Nope, investing means putting money into something in order to get a return.

So far hes invested 87.5m to purchase shares and also invested a further 80m in the shape of an interest free loan.

Which makes him the person whos invested the most money into the club in our entire 139 year history.

Stick that in your net spend pipe.

I think this lad nailed it, talk of no investment is for the clueless.

People that are blaming the Mosh for not signing a striker need to give their head a wobble, I would imagine Walsh/Koeman and after them Kenwright decide the priorities. They obviously saw Sigurdsson as a greater need.

... and Niasse at £10m, and this was before Vlasic came in at £8m.

The 'theoretical' net spend if Barkley and Niasee hadn't gone wrong is approx. £30m over two seasons - not even enough to cover the increased TV money.

He has not invested. He has used an overdraft without meaning to.

Lol

"Whoops spent more money than I meant to. My bad."

I see we've gone past net spend into theoretical net spend. Maybe one day league position will be decided by theoretical points.

Well, didn't he? He meant to recoup that money at the last minute - both deals fell through. He'll certainly make up for that in January by selling assets then. It's an overdraft he's used.

That's not "investment". The TV money saw a 60% uplift - we've seen next to none of that in squad investment, let alone actual investment from Moshiri.

So your answer to that is to laugh it off. Fair enough I guess!

It is weird seeing some say he hasnt invested, or at least facilitated investment, because we didnt sell a player or 2.

How is it "weird", those are the facts of the matter. He meant to sell Barkley and Niasse, and meanwhile he was scrabbling around for loans for the likes of Perez - that is indisputable.

I find it actually weird that people are spinning this as Moshiri investing simply because Barkley turned around at the last minute and proper screwed him over, because his intent is to spend next to nothing.

He's had three transfer windows and shown consistently that his intent is to sell to buy, to tread water and effectively not invest a penny.

I asked this question the other night to someone else Tubes, still waiting for a reply.

If your point there is correct, and the sky fell in cos deals fell through, and ergo, I guess you belong to the "we sold Rom so bought all them players early" camp, probably true actually.

Who, exactly, did we sell to lob £45m at Swansea?

Or even, theoretically sell?

Good post

But to me he can spend whatever he likes but it's a waste of money now as we didn't get a striker. Big mistake. Struggle to even finish top 7. Last year we were 7th with Rom. We look weaker in my eyes
Stop going to the match then....Oh wait

I've just said "overdraft". We took out a facility in China so we can spend without selling first, but that overdraft always needs settling.

So Barkley and Niasse not leaving simply means that overdraft has been eaten up. January and/or the summer will see us balance that debt.

This is simply not investment by any stretch of the imagination. This is Bill Kenwright with an overdraft - there's absolutely no difference.

The facts are we we spent a lot of money. More than we recouped.

And we lobbed £45m at Swansea after squaring the Rom money off.

But ok.

Fair point.

Lets see how it all pans out. I have said since day 1 that this bloke is a facilitator, with a wider agenda. But his agenda and ours are joined at the hip.

Lasagna time. Night all. Xx
