Platini is my fav player ever..... i love zidanne but platini ****s all over him..... ruud gullit was better than zizu,,,,,, i've seen maradonna in his pomp, ronaldinho, even strikers like romario and bebeto , hugo sanchez even but messi is the best of them all.... he has everything and every time he gets the ball people are exited as they know he has the ability to make things happen EVERY time,,, not just once or twice a game...............also if you a person who relies on stats for your reasoning then check out Brian Cloughs stats....fantastic strike rate.

It's weird.

We wax lyrical about players from the past like people do, but we have the privelige to watch somebody right now who will go on to be regarded as one of the all-time greats...and yet there isn't an air of magic about him to me that I've felt when watching original Ronaldo, 04-06 Ronaldinho and Zizou...

In terms of prowess, skill and goalscoring Cristiano Ronaldo will (and should) be mentioned in a similar breath I feel.

Can you clone someone with just sperm alone? Pretty sure you need stem cells to do that.

Everybody knows that to clone you put a Petri dish full on jizz in the microwave on full for 30 minutes, then you bury the contents in the back yard and wait for 5 years. You have to make sure that there are no flies in the nucker when you press start though.
 
People who actually played against George Best claim him to be the best ever.

Best played for Northern Ireland who were utter pants. They never played in a World Cup.

According to some of the arguments here, that fact alone excludes him from any discussion.

Messi plays for a currently under-performing Argentina side. Let's face it, the last World Cup (the worst EVER IMO) saw most of the 'top sides' under-perform.
