I could care less about the Euros mate, Wenger was looking to pay £12m for Jagielka, a guy who has barely even played at the highest level. In my opinion Heitinga is the better overall player and he's younger (although admittedly only by 9 months).

If we sold him for £8m i would fume.

I've never been a massive fan of his if im honest, but his performance when he got into the team in and around Jan were magnificant, he was a real leader. He certainly took his performance to a new level and answered all his critics.

I always get the feeling there is more to come from Jonny, he could really be the compleate player, he has the talent, skill, techniuqe, distribution, physicality and passion to be one of the best around - we've seen that in 6 month spells. I suppose its fair to say at times he hasnt been given oppurtunities.

His of the field attitude sometimes worries me, i think he would be of like a shot given a different oppurtunity or maybe CL - which is kind of understandable. I dont think he has any real warmth for Everton. That worries me a bit with his contract situation.

8 mill or so, when you factor the need for a replacement prob at 5-6 mill doesnt really make financial sense - i also dont see any decent replacements around for that price. But i think hes on around 55k a week and will be entering the final year of his contract at the end of this season. I can see the club maybe wanting to reduce his wage or getting it of the books, while i could also see Johnny wanting an increase.

I think this plot will get thick.

Just my take on it mate, i think hes a passionate player and gives his all when he plays, but i dont think Everton have gotten under his skin say like it has for Donavon and one or two others. I think he would have a pretty low threshold for having his head turned.
