A windfall? What has he done in football to warrant a high figure? Being touted as the next best thing and the best talent is good to raise your excitement levels and he is a good footballer, technically but he has to deliver on the pitch and players like him should be changing games from draws to wins.

Its time he grew up and became a man on the pitch.

Just no. We were all bashing John stones saying he's not good enough but yet he's walked straight into city's team and hasn't looked out of place. Barkley just needs a proper manager to give him a kick and a hug at the same time and I think he'll turn out to be class for us.

He's still only young, his stats are pretty much the same as lampard and scholes at this point in their careers, and they turned out ok.

I think he's at a crucial point in his career. Like most of us at some times in our lives, he has to now face up to showing his mettle and pushing on, or buckling. It's part of growing up, professional footballer or no. I hope he does push on but the jury is out. Turn up please Ross and show us what you are made of.

He isn't currently good enough for the requirements of a number 10 in a Koeman team. But IMO he isn't far off, just confidence and time to get used to the system. WHEN he get's his confidence back he will be a 50/60 mil player for us.

I think it's fair to say he is a confidence player, I wish some blues could see that they are destroying him game by game and get behind him.

He has the ability to be an Everton great. Why sell him for 30/35 mil now (which I imagine to be his current worth). We will look back in 5 years when he's a top player at another club whilst the likes of Niasse will be going for 30/35 mil then and regret it massively. Like Chelsea did with Lukaku.

You can't wait around forever though, we desperately need someone to perform in that number 10 role NOW. And if there is no improvement by Jan I would use Moshes millions on a proven number 10. Could do Barkley the world of good to have that burden of his shoulders and prosper around a more experienced 10. A more creative wide player to what we have now would also take some of that burden.

A question that needs to be asked well before 'Is it time to sell Ross Barkley for a windfall?' is could we currently attract a 10 better and more experienced than Barkley is right now?

I have never seen anything in pogba to suggest he is anything special at all.. don't watch him every week obviously
Completely agree which is why I wouldn't sell Barkley even if Koeman can't iron out the basic flaws in his game if he hits a run of form & scores a few worldies Which he is more than capable of we would get an astronomical sum for him.

I'm his biggest fan & wouldntn contemplate selling him however it's not my decision so if he goes we should only sell for top dollar. Watching that pathetic game last night makes you realise for all his faults Barkley is head & shoulders above the majority of premier league players.

Yes and sell Lukaku while we're at it, his first touch is still shocking.

And if we sell Williams now we may recoup most of what we spent on him as well before it's lost forever.

Ross Barkley had a standout season in Roberto Martinez's debut season. Scored brilliant goals, worked well with Lukaku.

Our formation means he has a lot of pressure on him to be outstanding or create goals.

Personally I think he gets criticised too much, but defensively I do not think he is good enough at the moment to play in a 2-man central midfield. His role in the team seems to be a little complicated and confused, and I'm wondering if talk of £30/40m moves away from the club will cease due to the criticism.

If his value is going down, should we cash in this January and move on? What makes this harder to think about, is that he is a blue.

Koeman probably knows his potential but can he find a consistent role for him in this squad, and can he get the best out of him?

I voted No but I'm a big softie

Koeman however, may not be...and his will be the only vote that counts

20 odd likes for this one!

Given a choice of selling one Barkley or the other which ones it gonna be?

Cruel choice I know!
I don't get him till November 20th so haven't got too attached yet! Ross is from my neck of the woods. He frustrates the hell out of me but I want him to succeed like no other player. Only Lukaku comes close in my affections. Gana is making his way there. Maybe I need to buy a puppy and call it Niasse-Gibson-McGeady, if what happened after naming my sister's tortoise Rooney, happened.
I'd never abandon an animal, bar crap footballers.
