No, he needs to develop yes.But he could be frighteningly good with experience and more of a football brain.Plus we wouldn't get more than 20m for him right now.
A football brain seems to be the key here. We binned Jordan Ibe off sharpish as he would stand and watch the opposition stroll into position and create chance after chance. My blue nose mate of fifty years watching Everton says of Barkley " I just don't see it". He said the same of Rodwell.

Not at all.

Top player in him, just needs a proper manager and coaching staff to get it out of him

He has had 6 out of 7 managers over look or drop him... only bobby gave him complete freedom and constant praise... and this didn't work either. How many more approaches are there?

I think he's best in the final third. He once said his position is behind a striker ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/32123050 )

"Behind the striker.

"I can have my greatest impact there. I'm free to roam around, take players on, have shots and create chances."

I think we need to go more 4-4-2 ish and it complicates things when he is in a half-midfield, half-creator role because he is not good defensively. He could be deadly if he received the ball in more attacking positions more often. I fear Koeman is going to push him out of the club. I don't think he was that bad against Sunderland. He played some nice one-twos with Gueye. Being left out of the England squad and then subbed at half-time was harsh. I think we need to get him closer to Lukaku in forward positions and figure out a way to get Bolasie involved too. Bolasie is known as a winger but perhaps Bolasie behind Barkley and Lukaku could be the way forward.

He was shocking against Sunderland mate... and was rightly subbed and we smashed them after that.

Absolutely pointless thread why on earth would we sell him.

Moussa sissoko aged 27 years old & French has never scored more than 4 premier league goals in a season & has an assists record akin to a Neville brother yet went for 30 million with a year left on his contract. Don't care if he played well in the euros he scored 1 in 46 for France he is a really poor player.

What would it take to make it worthwhile to sell £50 million id still say no absolutely no point writing him off yet.

Koeman has basically told him if you don't work how I say you won't play. He knows 100% what is required of him if he wants to play.

It's just a matter of time he will come good again absolutely no doubt about that.

For Christ sake pogba was £90 million watch him tell me there's a big gap don't see it myself

I have never seen anything in pogba to suggest he is anything special at all.. don't watch him every week obviously

...every player has a price, I'm not aware of any truly top clubs wanting Barkley so it depends on what a team are prepared to pay and whether we are happy to accept it. It appears he's no longer a regular and he could slip further down the pecking order after the transfer window.

Barkley is in a similar situation to a number of other players who don't appear to have convinced the new manager.

no.
Why?
He's not having a great run of it, but is worth more to us than the money we would get for him surely.
Plenty of ability and room to improve, yet has shown his quality.

Has he though? Roy dropped him for ignoring instructions. Martinez let him play however he wanted and moyes was scared of using kids. That's only 3 managers.

Koeman has come in and is actually working with players. He has took rom aside and is making him better at the areas he should be improving in. He will do the same with Ross.

I wrote a critique on Ross over in his thread so I'm not saying he is boss and undroppable or anything here. But I do believe there is a real player in there thst needs to mature and be focused into what he should be doing on the pitch. Get him to look to create rather than go for goal, improve his fitness and work rate and make him track back and win the ball, keep him playing in his position rather than have him wander about the place. These sorts of things if improved on will see the real Ross come through.

Because like I said in his thread, there is a player in there and he still has many years to achieve that, but he needs to be improving now, not 4 years down the line. Only he can do it and under koeman he has a good a chance as any to do that. Make him droppable and all of a sudden Ross is having to look at his own game rather than know he is picked no matter what

No, he's only 22 ffs

Look at Gareth Bale at the same stage of his career, couldn't get a game at spurs, every match he played in they lost, nearly loaned to notts forest... then all of a sudden everything changes.

Ross just needs some things to fall his way and he can still go on to be the best english player in the country.

Actually Gareth Bale was scoring hat tricks at the San Siro at 21
