Is it time for Technology?

This may be naive but why, in the age of multiple camera angles and multiple TV cameras, must each club install new technology and not just use a video replay like they do in Rugby or Cricket?

Because it's easier and less disruptive to the game for a referee to wear a watch that tells him if the ball has crossed the line than stopping the match to look at a replay.

What about teams in the lower leagues and teams in smaller leagues on the contient that can't afford it? Is it not a way to avoid costs for those teams?

Because even with replays, in some cases, it can still be a subjective opinion as to whether the ball is in or not. The goal line technology removes any form of doubt, it is definitive & the decision is sent straight to the referee. FIFA would never have sanctioned the use of technology on any other basis.

Will it remove some of the talking points in football?

Yeah, first goal line and then what? Could be a landslide effect.

That's why I like the idea of a video replay, it gives the officials help but doesn't make the decision for them.

Mark my words, it won't end well. This is just the start of what will ruin football

If it's the beginning of the end for gash decisions that decide games & ruin my Saturday afternoon on a regular basis, then I make you 100% wrong.

Here's what i don't get.

People complain that modern football is ruined because of all the crap attached to the actual games, the controversy, the hype etc.

How can those people be against something which will benefit the actual match and hinder the post match bollocks ?

Bookmarked this for 2015 when you all want rid of it because its ruined football

One thing I will say,

I bet that the first time a decision is changed, it will eb to our detriment

Sod's law

Could have used it for that Newcastle game at Goodison mind. that match alone makes it worthwhile. If we'd got 3 points in that instead of 1, we'd be in a much more secure position right now
