Is English coverage obsessed by managers/coaches?

Was watching the match last night with the missus, when she pointed out something that I hadn't even thought about. With English broadcasters/Sky not being in control of the visuals, it is, to me now, very noticeable how little time is spent panning to the dug-out and focusing on the management team.

Is the media in England obsessed with the Manager, where other countries aren't, or is it just something that differs during the world cup. Thinking back, it doesn't see to ever be a prominent feature of International games played abroad, but I don't know what its like with coverage or other leagues.

That naturally poses another question though.... If yes, why?

Hey look it's that Argie manager in his tee shirt and sleeve tattoos. Oh hang on, look it's Southgate wearing a waistcoat. I wonder where Löw's fingers were just before the camera panned to him? Who was that guy that looked like a roadie from Iron Maiden's Killers world tour @roydo?
