Manchester City would bite their hands off for a simple 50 point deduction. They'd still have probably a 50% chance of staying up, would invest in the summer, then win the league next season. No incentive not to do all their cheating all over again.
Difference is, it wouldn't be seen as cheating this time around, as they're starting from a higher base.Manchester City would bite their hands off for a simple 50 point deduction. Hearing rumours that City won't be punished by expulsion, but by a points deduction of a size that could potentially see them relegated on points.
They won't get expulsion because it will go to appeal, but what happens if their points deduction is so large it sees them relegated, then they appeal. Surely, as has happened in all other cases, the points deduction stands until such a time as the appeal has been completed.
I just want to see them crushed tbqhwy.
Would be interesting. If I had to guess the PL won’t do anything that takes the jeopardy out of either end of the table, therefore any point deduction might be enough to have City in a relegation battle until the end of the season (e.g 45 points would leave them needing to get high 70s to have a chance of staying up).
Similar as the way they had no precedent for our points deduction but in 10 points arrived at just the right amount to keep us in a relegation battle we wouldn’t have been in for nearly the whole season. Equally with Forest a 10 point deduction would have put them in a lot of trouble so it was conveniently less on good faith which also happens to put them in an entertaining mix with us in a relegation battle that would have been decided by November otherwise.
Leicester would have been dead this season with a points deduction. Conveniently none had arrived so they too can add to the drama at the bottom.
Think the only way it’s as light as that is if they’re found not guilty on the majority of the charges. If they are guilty of all charges IMO it’s got to be very severe as they will have systematically cheated the league for years.15 points reduced to 10 IMO.
Again, in context towards ourselves when they made up punishments on the fly (remember they wanted something like a total of like 20+ points off us over the 2 hearings), it's farcical.

Thing to remember is that while City are a powerful club now the REAL establishment clubs who wield power in the league like United, Arsenal or the RS are the ones who will have lost titles, places and an awful lot of money through City’s cheating (if proven). They are not going to be ok with the punishment for that being a small deduction then back to normal. They’re going to want them vollied into the sun.
love thisBy the way, one upshot of yesterday's takeover here is that if the PL hit us with any sanctions, they can expect to be sued to kingdown come by own new overlords.
There was no coincidence that we were hit with draconian sanctions when we were on our knees administratively. This club was defenceless in the face of the PL's assault. Look at how Forest got a much lesser sanction and Leicester none at all. We were like an open goal. Not any more...

A 50 points deduction, and assuming they're doing as bad for the rest of the season, will probably leave them on 20ish points at the end of the season, and so relegation. If they're guilty of all or most of the charges, 50 points is not enough...based on our and forest penalties, it should be something like 8 points perhaps reduce to 6 for good faith and collaboration for the first infringement, but then 1 point for each of the subsequent breaches.Manchester City would bite their hands off for a simple 50 point deduction. They'd still have probably a 50% chance of staying up, would invest in the summer, then win the league next season. No incentive not to do all their cheating all over again.
I’d like to see them stripped of their PL titles if they are found guilty, this would push them back below us as all time winners of top flight titles, conversely however it may mean rs are awarded to additional titles by default…..conflictedThey should be removed from the division - very simple. The Premier League can very easily ban Manchester City from the division for X number of years. I'd think about 10-15 is suitable for what they've done. Then it would be up to City to negotiate with a league further down the. pyramid to let them in, with no guarantee it would be the Championship. One relegation for City = they're competing for top honours in 12 months = it's no punishment at all.
I've stuck to it all the time that City would not get relegated, but would get a big points deduction, but not enough to send them downHearing rumours that City won't be punished by expulsion, but by a points deduction of a size that could potentially see them relegated on points.

I am in 2 way about this...realistically they are the only team that can challenge Liverpool even if they're not doing well at the moment. Then it would be also hugely controversial if they get off with a small point deduction versus our point deduction for one charge. Pressure would then fall on the PL and would be interesting to see how they end up explaining it to the fans of the clubs concerned.Hearing rumours that City won't be punished by expulsion, but by a points deduction of a size that could potentially see them relegated on points.

I’ve estimated it between minimum Deduction: 15–20 points and a maximum Deduction: 30–50 points. Based on the deduction we got and forest received.
