According to Moyes there won't be any big signings. More likely players that he doesn't see as firstteam players to make the squad bigger.

I think most of us agree that we need to make our squad bigger, but we need to add players good enough to do the job in the PL, otherwise it's not really any use to sign them.

So checking this early in the preseason..

Out:
Jacobsen (Only real player to be missed of the ones leaving)
VdM (No need to write anything here)
Castillo (Didn't play much last season)
Valente (Didn't play much last season)

In:
Peterlin (Benchplayer perhaps)
Mustafi (Reserve, for the future most likely)
Garbutt (most likely for the academy or reserves this season)

I don't count Jo since he was on loan in the second half of last season.

We have lost mostly squadplayers, but so far we have just added such as well. With the possible addition of Naughton coming in that will leave our squad about the same in size. Any other player coming in will increase the size of our squad.

absolutly spot on. it looks like we may get 4, 3mill type players rarther than one 10/12 mill player

I'd think we'd agree that if the Naughton deal is done and Moyes finds another midfielder amongst the various names bandied about, everyone would be pleased with the summer's efforts.

Often in Europe, when you come back after the mid-week game it is that game where you can struggle. I hope for a at least 1 quality player that goes into the first team. But yes this is better than last season.

His wording seems a bit awkward and open to interpretation there. It doesn't exclude a decent major signing.

if we only sign a decent wide right midfielder & a few loans/freebies to fill out the squad then we'll be ok - anything additional would be a real bonus.

I hope that's what he's doing. If he honestly doesn't get a better Right midfielder than Osman, or Right Back / Defensive Midfielder for Hibbert (slotting Neville at RB in the case of the DM) then questions need to be answered.
