If we have a clearout in the summer...

lets hope wigan is relegated and we could get MacArthur, McCarthy and Moses on the cheap, the same goes for West Brom, that should make Dorrans and Morrisson available. A cheeky bid for Lewis Holtby, combined with keeping Rodwell and blooding Barkly and we would have a wonderful midfield, and a potential England forward in Moses.
Duffy should be a good understudy to Distin(who will not be worth selling for the fee we could get), and defense is sorted as well.

There's only two players i'd want from Wigan, N'Zogbia and Rodallega. They would both leave if they were relegated. Odemwingie, Morrisson, and Brunt all look decent at West Brom. From Wolves, Doyle, Jarvis and Milijas look handy, whilst at West Ham Scotty Parker is a class act.

How has it come to this :(

Without question, it has. In fact, the above scenario would be best case, because in reality we're looking at League One or obscure foreign imports for nominal fees unless we sell star players.

All thanks to Bill Kenwright.

Our best purchases have always been the cheap ones from the lower leagues or players not able to find their feet in another league. Most of the time when we have splashed the cash on a name player Beattie, Johnson, Yakubu, Heitinga, even Fellaini - we all felt they would be great signings. Again the United-trio of Howard, Neville and Saha were all rejects that was no longer deemed good enough, and which with the possible exception of Howard was true.

Players like Dorrans, McCarthy, MacArthur, Moses and Morrisson are not household names, but young, hungry and with potential - very similar to Cahill, Lescott, Jagielka, Baines who have all been among the buys Moyes have made.

I would love us to sign any of these.

Lovely thought, only issue is that we won't have the cash to buy them. The theoretic clear out will more than likely see Yobo and Yak go for an approx £6m total which will be offset against club debt and salary.

They may well have great potential, they are also key players for their respective clubs, and importantly won't be on huge salaries; therefore Wigan/West Brom won't need to sell them to survive.

For me they would all be good signings for Everton, but I can't imagine any of them demanding to leave their existing employers for PL football.

You can't survive constantly on budget signings whilst selling off prime assets. Eventually it'll overcome the side as the lack of quality will be evident.

I'm not slating lower league talent - especially given I'm a man who would love the likes of Jennings and Brunt at Everton - but you can't solely rely on scouting gem after gem from that level.
