If we don't get into the top 4 what are your predictions for Everton football club

We won't be paying any team compensation for a new manager o I'm going with either a currently unemployed manager (Hughes, Curbishley) or an appointment from within.
 

.........can't understand the negativity. Folk need to get real. We are a club punching above our weight. Getting to 40 points is the aim in our financial predicament. Top4 will be brilliant, but top 6 in itself is an achievement. Not finishing in the top4 will not be armegeddon. If Fellaini goes, so be it. For those of you with short memories of last day relegation fights, we should settle for Mid/upper table mediocracy anything else is a plus. Clubs key asset is the manager and things are unlikely to change without investment.
Fans kneejerk reaction can have a drastic impact.....just look at the likes of Charlton.

what about the fans who remember league titles,cup winners cup, fa cups, and being the best team in europe.

im not settleing for mid table mediocracy mate....and wtf has charlton got to do with a club with our history .

bills done a great job at lowering ambition at our great club.

Euro cup is doable still 5th or 6th but we need to sign goal scorers. Moyes gone in summer ok with me if we sign a manager who can build teams and has a winning mentality not the "don't lose" mindset moyes has that stops us getting to the next stage( how many times have we sat deep for 30 mins trying to defend a one goal lead and **** ourselves every time we give the ball away )

not sure we can blame him with this mentality this season - he picks a defensive neville in the midfield in games at home to wigan when really it should be more attacking, but this isn't him being defensive - it's just the balance he thinks suit us best and tbh who can blame him based on this season. I've been critical of the football we've played under him, but he's shown (especially at the start of the season) that if he has the right personnel, then he feels we can play the most attractive of football. I wasn't too arsed with him going at the start of the season, but i'm tending to lean towards more with our performances this season although he still makes decisions that piss us all off

...........I suspect I'm one of the oldest on the site and I was at every success since 1960, so I certainly remember the good times. I'm just trying to bring a bit of reality to our current predicament. We are a very decent side but we have to manage our expectations and not drown in negativity. I'm not clever enough to understand the economics but I absolutely agree that BK could have done more to attract investment.

I still think we have a chance of getting 4th, it seems like all the possible contenders slip up on the same weeks.

But I do agree with the ramifications if we don't get it. I genuinely think there is a big chance Moyes will leave in the summer. Whether that's because he fancies a new challenge abroad or because he thinks he has taken us as far as he can I don't know. What I do know is that we have a reasonably aging squad and in the next 5 years key players will need to be replaced. Without the money to replace those players, he could see team performance deteriorate and his credentials as a top manager diminished.

In the event he does leave I think life will be really difficult. When people have ****ged off the board over the past 11, the league positions and stability on the pitch has been used as a defense; "you can't give all the credit to Moyes, you need to give some credit to the board as well." If he were to leave I guess we would see how good the board/ owners really are. My gut feeling is that it would demonstrate their failings and inabilities, without the fig leaf that is Moyes.

Yes, but that's not due to a lack of courage (bottle).
 

So we fail to break down a well organised team who came for a point (said team have won at Arsenal and Chelsea as well) and got it and this place goes into total meltdown. God help what will be said if Moyes and Felli leave.

You cant say that definitively. Just because you think people dont share your view, doesnt make them blinkered idiots.
