If Suarez's "goal" had been allowed...

Why would anyone feel Moyes bottled it ?? Why even ask the question ?

He picked his strongest side available and for long periods actually took the game to them and attacked.

Had we been 2-0 up and drew 2-2, then yes.

But we showed brilliant character and spirit to get back into the game before half-time. I thought we didn't deserve to be 2-0 down anyway, one spawny deflection and a set piece. Liverpool were very poor but we just couldn't get that 3rd goal, in part thanks to Suarez kicking Mirallas out of the game.

I've said all week: reverse the situation.

Imagine they had Suarez suspended, and lost Sterling at half time.

While at the same time we had Pienaar & Mirallas for 90 minutes.

We would have raped them.

The thing that annoys me about this goal is:

1 - It would of been a completely un-deserved win for them. I don't think they did anything to justify scoring 2 let alone 3 times.

2 - They feel they have been robbed a goal at the end? Well if that had stood WE would of been robbed as it was a clear FOUL on jags! The right decision of No goal was just... All be it disallowed for the wrong thing.

As it stands...We were not lucky and them unlucky it was the right decision. As said disallowed for the wrong thing but...Right not to count as a goal!
If it had of stood we would of been very unlucky (clear foul) and them very lucky!

It would have been undeserved and we would have been very unlucky but it's not always about who you feel deserved the win more. There have been plenty of games we've happily accepted the three points on the sheer basis of scoring more goals than the opposition rather than necessarily being undisputed deserved winners.

I'm not really sure it was a foul on Jagielka but I don't think it was a free kick in the first place and that dive by Sterling to win the free-kick for the second goal was ten times worse than Neville's, so I still would have felt aggrieved if we had come away with no points.

The phrase "bottled it" is a load of bollocks but if they'd have won it, and even now with it being a draw the question still goes without an answer : how have we managed to go 2-0 down and then been damn lucky not to actually lose the game against a really gash rs team who we outplayed anyway?

Its just not right, the poor results against the rs continue.

They got lucky.

If Mirallas wouldnt have picked up an injury we would have bummed them into next week.

we must tighten up defense - 2 early goals due to bad luck and bad marking - we have to change that - if you start cautiusly you must make sure your defense is water tight otherwise you become a sitting duck - throwing caution to the wind is only worth while if you don't compromise yourself in the process - i think our back midfielders do not gell well with our defenders at this stage - hope we can improve there - we allow opposition strikers too much space - nobody was really pressurising Suarez with both those goals .......

Liverpool just came out of the blocks quicker and took us by surprise, but, I think the big game changer was Mirallas going off, and sometimes, teams just don't get what they deserve.

Also it must be said, Moyes IMO, has the team playing more attractive football, which means we are scoring goals, something we have lacked a few times over the Years, but we are also conceding a lot of goals, most of which are down to downright terrible defending or strange deflections.

I cant think of many goals this Season where ive just thought, "Thats a great goal, hats off to them".

I'm sure someone could find an excuse full of ifs and buts for every game we've failed to beat them in, but that fact still remains the same.

Yes, it's not great failing to beat them yet again BUT we have now managed to gain the upper hand. Just look at Gerrard's comments and a piece in the Daily Post today written by one of their fans (whole article just slating Moyes).
We have them worried and they are now taking us seriously after ignoring us for years.
