If Suarez's "goal" had been allowed...

No in a word.

I think the starting line up was as strong as it could have been, we set out to win the game and came unstuck with bad luck on the deflection for the first goal and poor marking on the second goal.

Gueye played on the left throughout the FA Cup run last year when Pienaar was cup tied putting in good performances against Sunderland for example. On paper he is a more attacking player than Oviedo, although in hindsight it didn't work out on the day.

He played well against Sunderland, Thats it, One game

Anyone who watches Everton can see the lad offers nothing on the wing, He has no pace and his crossing is poor

Why pay 2.5m for a player if you wont give him a chance in games?

As I said, in hindsight it didnt work out, but I dont see how playing a left winger who has produced the goods all be it fleetingly in the past over an attacking left back who we paid a good wage for us Moyes being negative?

Think his opposite number bottled it - going 5 at the back at HT, especially making those decisions before seeing if our most influential player would come out for the 2nd half. Moyes didn't bottle it but i would have liked to see him gone more attacking for the last 15 mins for the win, i would have brought vellios on for neville, a decision which may have paid dividends considering how many dangerous free kicks we had in the last quarter, with that extra height along with fellaini, we could have scored a 3rd, just my opinion like

Genuine question

Yes, I feel as though we got beat. If it was given our performance would still have been identical, but everyone would have been fuming on all the Everton websites over how we played. It goes to show, it's about the result not the performance.

I am sure it would of been another excuse to give Moyes grief. Its not like he's not getting it after the draw let alone a defeat.

We bottled it only for the first 20 minutes.

It was pathetic...we shat ourselves against that poor poor team and by time we realised we are capable of beating this shower we were 2 goals down.

The same as we shat ourselves against Southampton, Wigan and QPR no doubt. The leaking goals bit isn't down to bottling it.

Moyes can't win really. He goes like for like in replacing Mirallas with an attacking wide player and he gets accused of bottling it, when what he should have done is thrown a left-back/utility player on.

He wasn't being negative on purpose but to bring gueye on, on the left was naive at best. gueye will not chase back and cover the full back, that means the fullback can't commit forward for fear of leaving a huge gap behing them. with the sub he made not only did we lose our winger (not moyes fault) but we also lost our attacking fullback.

We were miles better than them on Sunday. An unfortunate own goal and a set play put us two goals behind and we fought back to go in level at half time. We got unlucky with Mirallas getting injured but it's not a one man team and I still think we did enough in the second half to win the game. If they had nicked it at the end it would have been a travesty upon mankind. True evil would have been released upon this earth.

Last Sunday was positive for me. We played well, should have won and it further proved to me that we are the better side. Yes we need to start backing that claim up with wins but still, we played really well on Sunday. Plus the RS are foaming about that dissallowed goal that should have been dissallowed for a foul on Jags anyway. Win win.

It should have been allowed, although whoever won the header was fouling.

Plus we outplayed them for long periods, it would have been painful, but not a bottle job.

as ian dowie said on soccer special the last night only for mirallas going off at half time he felt everton would have won! as for guyne over oviedo easy say after but in fairness we hadnt seen much of oviedo to warrant saying he was defo the choice in hindslight im sure davey would go with oviedo now if given choice over again!!

Oviedo has loads of pace and good technique, you could see enough to tell he's going to become a good player for us in the Leeds game, even though everything wasn't coming off for him.

One of our Danish posters said he improved a lot at Copenhagen as he became accustomed to the higher level of football. I think we'll see him improve over the season and I think we'll see a lot more of him in the 2nd half of the season.
