Title says it all, it won't happen yet but who knows as he still is yet to discuss a new contract let alone sign one? He hasn't even appointed a number two

Because he has no number two we would struggle to promote from within so we'd be stuck with abroad or lower leagues here. Alan Irvine's name would come into the frame as would the lad at Barnsley and no doubt Paul Ince would get a mention but there is no one I can think of at this moment who could replace him...................any suggestions

The idea of Moyes not being our manager is terrifying. I can't think of anyone else I'd want to do the job for us.

I can't see him leaving soon- he's built the team we have at the moment and will want to see the rewards of his work.

I woke in a cold sweat thinking about it, it isn't easy and it is a position we could find oursleves in, hope its a barghaining tool by DM, especially the having no number two(y)

Cal should get it. he's working on his coaching badges so he's already more qualified then Avram Grant. :lol:

Mourhinio?? Yes I know that would probably never happen.

I wouldnt mind a promising foreign coach for a change, when the day comes that Davey moves on.

this talk of him waiting on a new contract. notice how all the top players at the club have been tied down for 5 years by moyes... but kenwright has not followed suit with the manager.

there are a couple of worrying soundbites coming out from the club..

1. MOYES 'we need to spend big just to stay ahead of the pack- let alone catch the clubs ahead of us'.

2. KENWRIGHT ' if we get in to the champs league we will be ready to spend big'.

if we miss out on the champs league then moyes and kenwright will have an interesting meeting about funds for the new season... let alone new contract talks.

lets be honest. moyes would walk in to any job in england now. kenwright has to be very savvy about how he plays this one.

I think the delay is purely down to 2 reasons;

1 He has much more pressing matters to worry about right now that sorting out the next 5 years of his salary.

2 He will want to have some of assurances regarding financial commitment to the club to transfers written into his contract.

Its purely that his new contract will be quite complex, its not simply a case of how much he wants over how long, so its only natural to do it once the season is over and he has time to plan that accordingly. I really dont see Moyes leaving us right now.

mark hughes....needs a bigger club than blackburn

Thats true, I dont see his long term commitment to Blackburn given whats he's done to Blackburn and Wales, but I have a feeling it would be the Utd job that he would have one eye on.
