Any player playing in our league should be forced to stick to our officially sanctioned international Windows.
If that means them not playing in some tin-pot tourney for a month then that's up to them to decide.

They are either an employee taking our sky inflated wages, playing games for us, governed by our fixture list and international Windows, or they are not. Their decision is made when they take their overly large signing on fee.

Since when does something have to be surprising for it to be wrong?

It's bizarre that these employees, who are paid 2,500,000 - 3,500,000 on average a year, are allowed to up tools and leave for one whole month out of a ten month season. This is without factoring in the high possibility of being injured to the extent that they will not be able to fulfill their role upon return.

Hang on boss, I'm going to go to another continent to work for another firm for a month. Oh - by the way, there's a chance I may not be able to do any work for an indefinite period of time when I come back. Yes, I know you made a £7,000,000 investment to get me here in the first place but can you just make sure the cheques keep rolling in every month though? Tar.

Is there any other industry in the world that works like this?
As others have pointed out the climate in Africa dictates the date of the tournament.

This is all a bit silly really. It's like signing a contract and then moaning about the terms after you've read it.

People can throw their toys out of the pram as much as they like but we knew what we were taking on when we signed him.

They don't consider it a tin cup. And I would speculate that if Everton decided to unilaterally put an end to Gueye's international career, we wouldn't have a happy player on our hands. Personally, I think biffs like you should be banned from posting their half baked musings on football forums, but the world isn't perfect and I'm willing to roll with it.

When you know that the player will go on International duty, then you have to Accept it when it happens. If you dont like it, then you shoildnt have signed the player in the first place.

They also know when our Season is when they sign.
It's a decision they make too.

Why should they expect to be released from their contractual obligation to play for us in the middle of the season for a month and still get paid by us?

Nobody forces us to sign African players though. If we don't like it then we shouldn't sign African players. It's simple.
