Did anyone actually think that was ever going to happen, the way Everton act, we will be lucky if he is signed by the Brentford prem game the way we are going lol
This kind of transfer will always take time.

PSG wants to offload players to save money and make room for new players. The players they want to offload are on massive wages and and have no real value in the market. The options are contract termination or sale for nominal fees. With players having to take pay cuts in their new clubs.

Gueye is not alone. Same with Ander Herrera waiting to have his contract terminated so he can return to Spain. Icardi is also available, but as Gueye, he will need to get a pay off from PSG to accept a transfer.

Everton did the same with Sandro Ramirez. Could not get money for him, so they had to buy him out of the contract. Sandro signed for Huesca the same day as the Everton contract was terminated.

As long as the alternatives are to sign for Everton or stay in Paris, Everton can only sit back and wait. As a club they can not waste millions to get Gueye in for one or two extra matches. The only responsible thing to do it to wait or sign someone else.

It does seem like this should have been resolved in the early part of discussions and not something to spring on us at such a late hour.

Info: After reaching an agreement with Everton, Idrissa Gana Gueye only asked to leave Paris Saint-Germain for free, a request refused by the club. #PSG #Mercato

We asked Gueye if he wanted to join on a free without asking his employer? OK.

Is it just me or are these French stories smacking of made up BS? Why would PSG suddenly decide they want more money after agreeing the deal?
