I think it is difficult for Gueye to be seen as pro-Gay, given the Islam driven homophobic culture of his home country. We don't know in detail the strength of his personal anti-gay feeling. If he is that against it, he must hate his surname, perhaps that's why he also uses 'Gana'....

At the end of the day, in my view he'd potentially add a lot and on balance I think we should get him if we can - it's a good opportunity. Hopefully, with his past links, he really wants to come back and help get us out of this hole. We were never quite the same since he left, although he's aged since then so hopefully he still has it

It's a tricky moral question though and the anti-gay stuff isn't tolerated in the UK now
