What about Charlie Austin? Only 23, and has scored 18 goals for Burnley in 16 games this season. He's scored 15-20 goals every season the last 3 seasons as well, so he's definitely not a one season wonder. And he's only got 1,5 years left of his contract...

He reminds me a bit of Edin Dzeko. Very strong, great header, and a great finisher.

Interesting shout.

Would be a risk as he's only ever played at that level and lower.

Not convinced myself.

Actually a very good shout, not bothered about playing at a lower level anyone remember a certain Mr Timmy Cahill

I remember Tim Cahill very well.

Sadly I also remember Brett Angell, Jermaine Beckford (to an extent), Michael Ricketts, Marcus Stewart, Chris Kiwomya, Jan Aage Fjortoft very well too.

That lad finished top scorer with 10 goals despite not ever getting a consistent run of starts, don't understand why we sold him when we were clearly struggling for goals just to have him replaced by Stracqualursi. Mind you that money probably covered the Jelavic fee in January just to contradict myself.

Jan Aage Fjortoft did well for Swindon in the Premier League.

I agree with what you are saying though. Its certainly a risk. You could say that about any signing though I suppose.

Yeah Beckford was sold for a profit plain and simple. The fact he probably wasn't one of the boys just made it even more unlikely he'd stay.

A lower league striker we have to take a risk on is the kind of transfer we have to look at.

need a creative midfielder to replace osman - maybe of of these -
Rasmus Elm
Christian Eriksen
Oriol Romeu

depending on cash

also someone who can score i think 20+ shots at goal and 2 goals is a little low, someone like lamps really.

What about Lescott & Jagielka, both came from the Championship after a combined 1 season in the Premier League, I'd have no problem taking Charlie Austin, we need proven back up for Jelavic, also to give him a kick up the @r$e

Elm just transferred to PFC CSKA Moscow so, he will be out of our price range. Romeu has only been at chelsea for a year and eriksen is well out of our price range.
