16GB HD? Ive got 300 at the moment and this is 3 years old. What use is 16GB? I mean its not like your gonna do anything useful on it, so suppose its not as issue, but 16GB would barely give you enough space for a game...........

But its an apple, its not for games, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I meant 16 GB memory, it's got up to 2TB in HD space.

Windows OS only needs 4.

Well OSX only needs 4gb, it ships with 4gb, but you can increase it to 16gb, for when your doing what I do.

For what you need the PC is fine, but then if your just playing games then you may as well get as PS3 or XBox, you can still surf the net and get email etc....

What else do you use your PC for?

apples are near the forefront of technology, but that is simply because they tend to be bought, and used for many years.

my computer now, is actually many stages of my original computer which i bought in 1995. But being honest. I actually dont have a single component left from it !! (inc case) (although the p2 chip is in the cupboard still lol)

but this still doesnt justify the cost.. Massively overpriced and underperforming !

yes i admit they look good. But lets be honest its a computer, not a pair of tits !

Iv got a computer that will handle any single game out their at the moment, in the highest resolution . i wudnt say it was worth anywhere near what apple would charge. And to be honest, i actually enjoy upgrading my computer parts ...

Iv got a 26" iyyama Monitor, Phenom 2.5Ghz Quad Core Over Clocked to 2.9Ghz, 4Gb memory, 3.2Tb Of combined hard Drives. Radeon 4870 1GB XXX Edition.

I can play any game including Crysis at 1920 x 1200 in highest resolution. Now suck on that.. My next upgrade is my graphics and processor ;)

Oh and i would love to see crysis on a mac next to a pc

Enjoy

So it's all about Gaming then?

Or do you just wanna see a pair of tits in crystal vision?

My Mac is incredibly powerful, and the cost is justified by the performance, it's the same reason a high end car costs more than a cheap escort from the auctions.

It looks good, it has an operating system that shits all over Windows.
It's easy to use, it doesn't have annoying [Poor language removed] popping up all over the show asking me to update this and that. It doesn't need an ounce of the virus and malware protection that you need to buy for a PC.

But I'm not aiming this post at sad old men who still play games even though there about 10 years away from being proper old.

im 10 years away from being proper old?? wat?? your old than me haha !!

as for your comments.. No its not about gaming, in fact i dont really use my pc for gaming, im just a bit of a geek and like to have something that can do what it should.

ok so your mac is powerful, but seriously what can yours do that my computer cant do ??

snow leopard really does not [Poor language removed] all over windows 7. I have been using 7 for around 9 months now, not found any problems with it at all. and in fact love it enough that im actually going to purchase it and not just get it pirated.

As for virus protection. My company that i work for is the biggest distributer on ebay for norton internet security, but not a single one of my computers has any protection on !

I have only ever had one incident with an infection, and it was completely my own fault as i opened a file i expected to be a virus, but hoping it wasnt because i needed it and couldnt get it lol.

If you are sensible, you will not get virus's on your pc, this doesnt stop you looking at porn sites lol !

So come on then. Whats better your shiny 2000 pounds mac, or my performing 500 pound pc?

haha !!!

Well I doubt that Windows 7 is not without problems, they show a video of it having problems on the day it was supposed to be launched, and how have you had 9 months of use of it?

I don't actually pay £2000 for a Mac, I pay £1200 at the most, and it does what I need. I have applications for what I do that are far more superior then what is available on a PC. I know this because I have experience in that field.

And to say that you don't need Norton when viruses spread like wildfire throughout the world of PC's, is like saying you can go in the jungle - just don't look at funny at any weird dangerous creatures.

Conclusion

If you go by the scorecard, we have a tie -- Windows 7 and Snow Leopard each win five categories. Of course, going by a scorecard is too simplistic, because not all of the categories carry equal weight.
So which operating system is better? The near-simultaneous release of Snow Leopard and Windows 7 doesn't change the dynamic that has been in place for many years in the operating system competition between Apple and Microsoft.
Snow Leopard is more beautiful and elegant as well as simpler to use -- although with Windows 7, Microsoft has closed the gap between the operating systems, particularly when it comes to taskbar improvements.
Windows 7, on the other hand, remains the corporate standard, and nothing in Snow Leopard is likely to change that. And it's still a more tweakable operating system (although its critics may say that tweaking is mandatory in order to get it running right).
As for me, I'll continue to use both Windows 7 and Snow Leopard. I can't remember another time in which Apple and Microsoft simultaneously released major upgrades to their operating systems. Both releases are big improvements. It's a golden time for operating system aficionados -- my recommendation is to use both and enjoy them if you can.

THIS WAS A REVIEW I JUST FOUND.. THIS WAS A FEW WEEKS BACK< AND WINDOWS 7 WASNT EVEN RELEASED AT THIS POINT, SO ITS BETA VERSION!! WATCH THIS SPACE

well since i have been using pcs for 15 years now, and working with them continuously for 7 years, i think i can fairly well say that i know what i am talking about !!

Windows 7 has not even been released yet, so i dont know how they had a video of it having problems on the day of release. It is released this coming thursday.

Anyway i dont doubt their wont be a few bugs. This is clearly obvious. The pc is a much much MUCH bigger party than apple with the macs. While you have a hand full of different specifications. PC's have 1000's of different variations of hardware etc. This is a benefit and flaw in itself, but one that will iron out very very quickly upon launch.

Oh and i had the release candidate and beta version for that time. Im still on the RC now and have not used xp since.

Their is seriously no software that is better on the mac any more than cant either find an alternative or the same on the pc.

You do know, if you really wanted you could install snow leopard on a desktop pc.

Oh and lastly.. why would i want to run a platform which is sooo expensive for every single piece of software just because the market is sooo bloody small ..

poor mans shiny toy !!

I won't need to use Windows 7, I just need a PC to test on IE. Decided for gaming going to go old school and use a console.

You'd be surprised how many more corporate people are using Mac's. PC's will dominate the consumer market because, well people don't know any better and will say anything to a salesman at Currys.

For me there is no argument on which is the better machine, because I have extensive knowledge on both. I started on MS DOS and 3.1 then I moved to 95 and loved it. 98 not so much. Moved to Apple at Uni, OS8 and then OS9 and to be honest I wasn't impressed.

But then OSX came out and just blew the design away on anything previous.

I then then came out of Uni and bought a PC because I was struggling to get an apps for the Mac. Got XP and found it nice, but generally I turned off loads of features because of poor performance.

Moved back to the Mac and have stayed ever since. Which was good because Vista is shocking. And that was released to coincide with the release of Leopard, and it was rushed you can tell. Bugged to ****.

I have PC laptop downstairs for my wife and just got back from work earlier and it had a black screen. Pressing any key, clicking the mouse etc.... did nothing. So pressed the power button once to see if I could wake it, and it decided to restart itself.

Another bug I have with Windows, is that it never explains itself. It says that a program has crashed but then doesn't say why, even though it says it will.

Apple make great systems, mp3s, smart phones, laptops, high end and mid range consumer computers as well as professional tools for editing movies and music.

Microsoft make XBox, and Windows. What are they wasting their time on?

They had it all, the chance to really make some great stuff, and they keep missing the opportunity.

Strangely it will more than likely be Google who swallow them up eventually.

Well for what I do there is nothing on the PC that competes. Trust me.
