I met the badger

I've just finished an employment course at Everton and had a presentation today, Tony gave me me certificate and i shook his hand and that, i spoke to him for a minute or two just asking a few questions, i told him to make sure he gets a goal at Totenham on sat and he said he'd try his best  Proper sound lid

I've met a few others when i was younger on them soccer camps but can't really remember them, have any of you guys had any chats over the years?

he probably though you were a right tit, the game is at Goodison.

Met Danny Cadamartri on the steps outside Wembley before the semi. He was very down to earth and happy to talk to any blues or have his photo taken (as long as there was no evidence of the tinnies he was drinking since he had a game a few days later). When I was much younger I was in town during school holidays. I was looking in the window of a sports shop when this guy sidled up next to me. He wasn't tall, but was built like a brick sh*t house and had a massive gold earring. I glanced at him as I walked off, got about ten paces away thinking he looked familiar and twigged it was Amo. By the time I'd turned round he was walking away.

I met most of the '95 FA Cup winning squad at a players dinner when I was a wee lad. Got photos with Limpar, Amokachi, Tony Grant & Graham Stuart, plus all of their autographs. Some of the photos are knocking about on Facebook actually.

My Dad actually knows Tony Grant personally. He used to get his photos processed at the company that my dad was the area manager of.

I shook Howard Kendalls hand at half time in a pre-season friendly at Winsford in 1984 and wished him all the best for the season, we won the league. I wasn't a jinx in those days, I had the Midas touch. If I shook Chris Moylez hand now we'd probably get relagated.

Met David Moyes,Andy Hincecliffe,Dave Unsworth,Dave Watson,Tony Grant,Earl Barrett and Jason Kearton.And no im not a groupie.

Met Inchy at Manc Airport with some CatalaN types, I said "I hope you're not going to where I think you're feckin' goin."

He just nodded, shrugged and gave me the 'soz mate' look and boarded his flight to Barcelona, his signing for Espanyol was in the papers the morning after.
If only there was the internet back then I coulda done the worlds 1st 'spotted at the airport,' as it was I didn't even have a coin to ring my arl fella to tell him.

Had some boy racer drag off with Reidy one night coming home from a game, all the way down the lancs then onto the bypass, did him good style.
He was in an XR2, I was in my 205 GTI, tbf he never stood a chance.
There's your example right there though of then and now..... A top flight footy player that was PFA and Players Player of the year, an England international, playing for the Champions, and I a 21'ish apprentice am driving a better car than him, and not only that I can actually AFFORD it as well (just), it may well have been his runabout but if so then the moral is... get a faster runabout or you'll be embarrassed at every set of lights on the A580. Think Azteca Stadium, Maradona leaving the centre circle and stepping on the gas, pulling away as the injectors kick in and all you've got is a twin webber gasping for air.
