3 points, great, finally. But that's not it.

I'm in love again with football because that game today reminded me why I loved the game in the first place. Excitement, goals galore, a rollercoaster ride, heroes and villains, controversy and amazing play; it had everything.

Special shouts to:

  • Fellaini. Wow. He's just so good it's almost unbelievable. He ran a certain fiery-haired Frenchman close to MOTM, and when said Frenchman scores 4 (shoulda been 5; ref's a banker!), then that says something.
  • Moyes. I facepalmed when I saw him take off Bily and Rodders; they'd been 2 of our best players today (I'd given Rodwell some stick recently, but he was magnificent), and then he brought on the seemingly half-fit Cahill and Beckford. Well Cahill didn't seem to do too much, but something worked; 2-3 turned into 5-3, so fair play Moyes.
  • General shouts out to Arteta, Coleman, Bily, Rodwell and pretty much everyone today. Distin and Heitinga were badly at fault for two of their goals, but that aside, everyone was magnificent. Even Beckford took his goal like he was Drogba or something; well in.
  • And last, but definitely not least, HAIL TO THE KING, BABY! He's scored 8 in his last 5 starts is it now? He even scored a fifth today, but thankfully that's not the talking point it could have been. If Louis Saha had had an injury-free career, he'd have been one of the premier league greats, no doubt. Finally he gets his hattrick (and one) and what a way and a day to do it. Please don't get injured!

I do think we've left it too late to salvage the league season, but nevertheless, today has put me firmly in love with the sport once again. When you're up, Everton will knock you down a few pegs, but when you're down, well, they do this. COYB.

I agree mate, a tremendous spectacle.

I thought we played some top stuff, the season aint over till the last game.

yeh we did well to come back, 10 minutes of that game was absolutely shocking though! Colemans header which lead to that feeble challenge by Heitinga was absolutely shocking! Still not 100% convinced with coleman on the right, where he does well going forward he lacks in other areas massively.

In total agreement here

It's quite amazing how 90 minutes of overpaid men kicking a ball around can make your weekend.

Regardless of the opposition, you have to enjoy games like that. If I don't suffer a minor heart attack in an Everton game, something doesn't seem right. Great spirit to get those 3 goals near the end

There's one of those 9 games done Muggins.....

Heitinga's true nature was exposed by his pansy tackle that lead to their equaliser (the 2-2 one). Clearly he'd rather ensure he doesn't pick up a knock, and you know you could never say the same about Jags, so I'd swap them. But that ugly incident aside, this was beautiful football at its beautiful best;

Fellaini proved yet again why he's the ultimate defensive mid; he wins everything, but then has the nouse to use the ball effectively (his assist for Saha's fourth was fantastic). Bily played some silky stuff, Rodwell reminded us why we're so excited about him, Saha was Godlike (incredible in the air, lightning-quick feet, great vision and he had his shooting boots on too), Coleman was adventurous, Baines put in some beauties and worked well with Bily and even Arteta was great.

I'd put Jagielka in for Heitinga next game if I'm being honest, for all his distribution and nice little shoves on the opposition, we look a more solid team with Jagielka in there.

I love him but he's good for at least one heart-in-mouth stray-pass-deep-in-our-own-half per game. I do wish he'd cut that out.

To be fair, I don't get to see every game so I suppose it just seems like that!

Fair enough, mate. I watch every game through totally legal means that are not at all against the law and definitely do not involve narrow channels of water, and I can say Fellaini doesn't normally do that.
