tears were in these eyes at the final whistle

I was so happy to be a fan yesterday amongst thousands upon thousands of fellow evertonians, this is what these good times are about and the arrogance with which the players and fans of Man Utd approached this game shows how spoilt they are. Weve had to scrap and fight for every morsel, we had faced the most difficult ties, we had skied over the first penalty, were so used to misery over the years...
and then there it was. we were through. And by no means have we even got one hand on the trophy, but I still shed a tear.
I am unbelieveably proud to be an Evertonian

Yesterday was so immense for me as well as an Everton fan not living in England. My first ever game I watched was the final in 1995 against Manchester United, the fading memory, when I was 7 years old, watching us score and right at the end Amokachi making that counter after Uniteds corner, which Pieter Schmeichel came up for.

14 long years I've waited to see my team in another final and yesterday it happened, one step further for the cup and that will be one of the best moments in my life

Very emotional day. I think i hugged more strangers than the time i went to that AA meeting.

Must admit looking out over all the Evertonians at the final whistle I felt emotional. Didn't cry though as I thought hopefully this shouldn't be the best thing to happen this season... we can go one better and win it.
