It depends what you mean by hypnotism I guess. There is a lack of consensus about what happens when someone is "hypnotised" or how to exactly define it.

I've undergone hypnotherapy in the past, the main thing I actually got from it was grounding emotions to certain acts. If you ever see footage of Prince Charles in social situations he fiddles with his cufflinks, as he's associated that with a sense of security and gives him confidence going into the situation. Whether that is a natural reaction or something he was taught I can't say.

There's definitely something in the trance state and putting someone under. It won't work on everybody, some people are so much more susceptible to it, even basic suggestion can get them to do things.

Stage Hypnotism is intended to get you into a heightened state of relaxation where you are susceptible to suggestion and you would do things you normally wouldn't
Therapeutic hypnotism, I have no experience of.

My Uncle was a hypnotist... I remember he would often practice on me whilst a few of his mates came to watch.... I'd come around and not remember a thing... apparently, one of the after affects of hypnotism is a jaw cramp and an inability to walk properly afterwards... very odd.

I do it for a living......... can honestly say it's a numbers game.......... give me 20 volunteers I might keep all of them under or 2. All hypnosis is self hypnosis, some people are more susceptible than others.

Yes mate the entertainment side.I do not make the people look like a bunch of weapons though.I believe that if people put their trust and faith in me, then the least I can do is treat them with respect.
