Nah beating the worst team in the league is neither here nor there.

Yes we won but they have 11 points! Personally I take away the fact that we struggled to beat them as being more important than actually winning.

Means nothing if we lose at the weekend. Martinez went 4 months beating only the bottom 3 teams if you recall.
Indeed...clownshoes started our slide downwards...worst home total points..a footnote in our history.

Couple more decent results and those on here predicting a relegation struggle will be confounded. Trouble is there are several teams around us as good as we are, so it will be a struggle to stay 7th.

Let us not under value this result, we won a game and kept a clean sheet. After Saturday I looked through our up coming fixtures and I honestly could have seen us not winning another game this season. I am mightily relieved tonight.
However, nothing much has changed, we are still a poor side, just not as poor as I feared. Tonight we bought a bit more time to sort the shambles out.

Thought Tosun was good tonight, gave their centre backs a bad time.
Keane and Zouma were solid.
Davies was effective in midfield and his movement for the goal was smashing to see.
Pickford largely a spectator made two fine saves, will have done his confidence the power of good.
Also impressed with the work rate of Bernard, the little fella goes unnoticed much of the time - a couple of goals would do him the world of good
