Something like this.

Started off well enough, but then....

One season soon forgotten, I'm booked for memory wiping later today so won't have any memory of the utter fraud.

A record premiership points total and FA cup would make for a pretty decent record.Failure to win the FA cup and the Martinez regime will be remembered as a false dawn.A promising beginning that didn't really amount to anything in the end and a waste of a talented squads potential.Roberto Martinez lasting legacy as Everton manager is on the line today.

The man who didn't deserve the job, won us over with a record points haul and then ripped the club of everything it had been known for over the previous 10 years and turned us in to a spineless, passionless boring injury plagued mess otherwise known as Wigan.

I will never for the life of me understand why a manager who had won a cup but got a team relegated (and couldn't even replicate Steve Bruce's achievement of 11th closest he got was 15th and 16th twice) managed to land a steady top 7 job. Its only when you look back at it now and think what was Bill thinking other than hearing Champions League in his head while Martinez was talking about avoiding the championship :D

For me he will be remembered as a manager who got Wigan relegated, then brought all the Wigan coaching staff and half their squad to Finch Farm in order to demonstrate that madness is indeed the practice of "doing the same thing over and over whilst expecting different results."

In fact, I won't remember Martinez at all. He will become the answer to the pub trivia question "Who was the manager for Everton in the two seasons where Lukaku's goals saved them from relegation?"

In years to come every now and then when it's quiet, like those stupid International breaks, he will feature in a 'Who was worse? Walker or Martinez' debate
