Just hoped it was trueSorry about that, I realise the title may be a bit premature. However I
believe we are witnessing the final hours of his position as our manager.
Hope this is ok
I say that cause he said and did all the right things when he got appointed. Brought Kendal and Dunc back into the club, spun us tales of where he wanted us to be and backed it up somewhat with results. Was the medias darling he was everywhere that first season on radio/tv had most of us eating out of his hand. Getting consistent results has been his major deficiency and spouting his inane positivity only heightened the poor results. If he got results no one would care what he was saying.
Well that's about a third of his tenure here. The rest of the time he's been talking nonsense and spouting greatness while underachieving. He took over a great defensive side, added some attacking threats and things seemed great.
However, he quickly removed the defensive identity and workrate of the team and subbed this for tika-taka and lasy stand-off defending. It was looking so well the first 12 months, but he threw away the perfect balance he'd found.
As the title suggests, as I believe he is in the the last 36 hours of his Everton career
how will he be remembered ?
I think nice bloke, but out of his depth on all levels, cracked under pressure towards the end.
And then you have, his back room staff,Lawrence Graham Jones, and DF.Stubborn, vain, arrogant, vindictive, one dimensional...and useless.
