I agree, however you need CL next term as a minimum and you have some MASSIVE spending to do as I can't see anything coming through your once famous ranks.
Van Gaal knows what he's doing. We're simply too huge a club to disappear into the abyss, as much as you lot would love that! I can't blame you either, when you win everything for decades, it gets tiresome for opposition supporters. But I've had some amazing times following United, the Camp Nou in 99 will stay with me forever, such a thrilling evening.
I'm not a spoilt Utd supporter, we can't expect success year in, year out. But anyone who thinks we'll simply fade away is just basing that on personal wishes rather than facts. No one really knows what is around the corner. But I'm quietly confident we'll be back in the CL the season after this.
We have some very good businessmen in charge and some of the deals they strike up are amazing. We'll need CL footy sooner or later, yes. But if you look at clubs like Spurs and Liverpool, they've done pretty well without it for a long time. We're investing now, the owners have had a wake up call. The money is there and we're spending it like no-one's business.
A few more additions and we're good to go. I am excited about the future.
