Then someone else would have signed him too. Just like the other 'fantastic' footballers we tried to sign. No world class footballers want to join a mid-table Premier League side.

So maybe I wouldn't have spent 60 million on one player then.. Amazingly there are better players than Cleverley, Kone, Gibson, Niasse and Steklenberg out there.
 
Negative net spend of £3M when we've had a massive tv money hike, £48M in through the door, and we have a billionaire in the hotseat.
