Rarely drink these days. Had a few on my wedding anniversary in early November. Don't remember the last time a drank before that. I was a juggernaut in my college days, but then again I was a college athlete. These days I am a cupcake, only takes a few drinks and I am good for the evening.

Intering guys i am going to try and cut back from reading your posts however i must admit really nervous and anxious about it, have been for some time. The thought of stopping drinkning is a scary one for me as i have drank every night for a long time, i have began to realise i have been drinking to much. Hoping to cut back to just drinking on the weekends. Last night was the first night and had only 2 cans which is a start as i usually have 6 stella. Also gonna try drinkning asda value (i know) but its only £2.98 for 12 cans and only 0.9 units per can so will will reduce my alcohol intake massively. Not told friends friends or relatives of my issue (to embarressed to be honest).

Nothing to be embarrassed about mate.. Many people do the same thing.. truth of the matter is, one starts drinking a beer after work, eventually it's two beers, and so forth.. You seam like a nice guy from the forums.. As long as your not hurting your loved one's emotionally and or physically than there is really nothing wrong with it..
You say you haven't told your friends or relatives out of embarrassment, well mate, if you had a problem your friends and relatives would have noticed. .
It's good that you have self control and vision in order to nip a future potential problem in the arse..

cheers mate

Thats just it i never drink before 20.00 however once 8 comes i will have 6 cans stella every evening but i never go beyond 8 and never get aggresive and hurt any one and never would and the wife's just says i enjoy a beer in the evening to relax. Suppose i am more concerned about the health aspects they say don't drink more than 3 units of alcohol daily but i am having something like 10-12 so thats what made me think.

Good luck with everything mate..

p.s. 30 minutes of exercise, say on a bike or treadmill during the time you would normally drink might help take your mind off of it, not mention make you feel better..

Is right for recognising it mate. Set an achievable goal, so probably allow for Christmas bevvies and that.

Good luck, with it, you will nail it.

Usually have a can with dinner or a glass of wine. Don't generally feel like drinking more nowadays, except when I'm doing a barbecue as it goes down like water. Just makes me drowsy when I'm on my own coz the mrs doesn't drink.
I used to drimk a fair amount when I was working on the discos and Karaokes 6 nights a week.
