How many books are there in your house?

I wonder if you can all help me - my 10 year old son has to do a project on the number of books in different people's houses - it would be really interesting and useful to get some answers from GOT.....

Alright mate, at the moment I reckon there is about 20. We don't stock pile them you see, they get shipped out/passed to a mate when read. The backlog is mostly mine as I'm going through a slow phase, she's prolific like.

I had no idea how many we had. Did a quick guesstimation count up and there are 650 - 700 ish.

I think I need a clear out. Readitswapit doesn't help much either.

We have 1462! We were so pissed last night (and after reading this thread), for some reason decided it was REALLY important we knew how many books we had! We included cookbooks and stuff like that too, so not sure if that counts? Today we're feeling guilty about the trees and thinking about reducing our footprint by buying iPads (next generation of course) and having everything in digital format!

About 200. Half of which are textbooks from College that I kept for reference Material.

This is in the States. Hoepfully that will not make a difference!

Only about 50 or so here that I can see, half a doz of those are Twilight books the missus has, I don't know if they should be counted, technically they're piles of crap!
