I for one felt that Seamus was outstanding last year but looking further back he came from nowhere and progressed slowly then had this huge season last year....

I have always stated that his progression to where he was last year was nothing short of a miracle but this year due to ? confidence ? injuries ? tactics ? head turned etc he is nothing more than a good fullback

Do we sell? fullbacks are an easier option to replace ad if a big big offer came in.... it has to be considered to strengthen more critical areas.... young , proven CB and young proven GK

I believe all good teams have to build form the spine outwards..... we have Stones, Barkley/McCarthy, Rom BUT are missing a reliable GK and CB ...... if the right offer came in, i would break the bank for Begovic and Shawcross to play and develop Stones

Full backs can be replaced and look far better players with a solid centre back pairing...

Wouldn't entertain selling him at all.

He's a top, top player. Struggled with injuries and confidence -- and being unable to get a consistent RM-RB partnership going -- but he'll be back.

Unlike at LB, where we have a world class player and 2 excellent understudies, we have no attacking RBs other than Seamus. The balance of the side would suffer so much without him. Not to mention how the feck could we replace him? Fullbacks who are good at defending AND excellent going forwards are tough to find.

No way we're selling him. Besides, we would ask too much for him and I doubt other teams would be willing to pay based on the way he's been playing recently.

Utd seem to playing 3 at the back lately, unless they fancy him as a wing back I don't think they will go for him. Shaw cost a fortune and is hardly getting a game at LB

Seamus got a vote in the World soccer world player of the year awards.
Basically one of 100 worldwide journalists thought he was the 10th best player in the world last season.

I think Kenny is earmarked to replace Coleman , not in this window however.
Think that a summer move for big money may be more likely , if it is to happen at all.
It is difficult to know what the future holds for the squad. Howard, Hibbert, Eto'o , Distin, Pienaar,Osman, Alcaraz and Howard will all probably go at the end of this season or next. By then Baines and Jagielka will be in their early thirties and if you add the question mark over Gibson it means that half the squad will be replaced in about two years or less.
We will have to promote from the academy or possibly sell a couple of players to fund a buying spree to replace those players.

I should add that I don't want him sold at all. He has the type of bloody minded determination that is missing from maybe a couple of others in the squad. I can only imagine what Lukaku would be like if had the same mindset as Seamus.

Compared to last season when he was phenomenal along with other players I think he is suffering trying to come to terms with RM's idea of a football plan.
