Everton defender Seamus Coleman has ended speculation over his future by penning a five-year contract extension.

The new deal will keep the Club's 2013/14 Player of the Season at Goodison Park until the summer of 2019.

Coleman's fine form last term also saw him named in the PFA Team of the Year, while internationally he captained Republic of Ireland for the first time during a friendly against giants Germany.

In total, the 25-year-old made 41 appearances for the Toffees as he enjoyed his most prolific campaign to date, netting seven goals.

A January 2009 arrival from League of Ireland side Sligo Rovers, the full-back made his debut against Benfica in October of the same year and is now just seven outings short of making 150 for the Blues.

"With how much I love playing at Everton, I was delighted to get the chance to sign another contract," Coleman told evertonfc.com. "I've been at Everton five years now and I love everything around the place. I love working with all the players, the staff, the coaching staff - everything. It was a very happy decision to make.

"With the manager and some of the players we have, we're going to the right places."

Coleman follows in the footsteps of manager Roberto Martinez, who put pen-to-paper on a new five-year contract earlier this month, while senior players Tim Howard, Leighton Baines and Sylvain Distinhave all agreed extended deals since the turn of the year.

Fantastic news, Ross will have a new contract soon as well for certain, we'll just have to wait a little longer for that.

Maybe a month.

Yessssss!! Seamie's boss. Utterly boss.

Hopefully Barkley, Stones Nd McCarthy next.

Actually, Mirallas can only have two or three years left, I wonder if he'll be done after the World Cup?
