How boring are we to watch?

I was making reference to domestic cups. In all fairness Moyes was like for like against Martinez in Europe. We always smashed what was in front of us until we hit the knock outs. I do however rate the Fiorentina team we went out against a lot higher than the Kiev team we just embarrassed ourselves against

With the way Martinez sets up, I think it honestly could be Barkley where the problem lies.

Martinez in midfield plays 2 deep 1 forward. Barry does the job he's asked of him, drops deep to distribute and break up play, yes we all know he hasn't lived up to last seasons performances but that position isn't going to be the key in getting us going in my opinion.

Barkley on the other hand is the link between midfield and attack and let's be honest he's not very creative and he isn't going to get you 10 goals a season on a regular basis on recent performances although, I do believe he has the potential to, I just don't think he believe's it himself.

His link up play with Lukaku was lauded last season, this season they look like complete strangers.

Ross' brain looks like it doesn't work quick enough to play the No10 run. People make the runs, he just doesn't react until its too late.

However before I rule him out completely I want to see a play maker on the left side first.

The point I was making was if they want to go perhaps its best if we focus in getting a good price not keeping them against their desire and then reinvest. It wouldn't be the end of the world.

All of that is supposition though.

I'd rather keep our best players, add one or two with the increased tv money and develop our youth players.

That's because foxtel are bellends, if it was Liverpool vs chelsea they'd have a 2 hour intro with robbie slater foaming at the mouth at how Liverpool are the greatest club in the world and the champions chelsea would barely get a mention

Stoke was a great game. Deulofeu took them apart.

I remember us taking Newcastle apart at St. James' 3 nil and on the break, Deulofeu, Barkley & Lukaku were devastating!

I think there's absolutely no need to play two holding midfielders at home against the likes of Sunderland. Makes it so much easier for the opposition to mark whoever our attacking midfielder is.

I also think Barkley's best position is coming from deeper in the pitch.

The problem is we're just not great at unlocking a stubborn defensive unit. We had that problem under Moyes and it hasn't gone away.

To change it you either need to pick up players for a bargain, someone like Coutinho or pay the top price for a Silva/Fabregas.

I agree on both points, usually we have 6 outfield players sitting at half way or less all game with only 4 attacking options in the hope that Coleman and Baines can make up the numbers on the overlap, unfortunately that hasn't happened enough this season.

Only makes sense that its hard to be creative and find someone in space when there isn't many options to hit.

I always think back to Barkleys performance against QPR when he played from deep, he looked a lot better but still his awareness wasn't great to be dropping back to bring the ball out of defence, but it's the only way he'll learn!
