I played with a guy who has Puerto Rico caps. He was fine, but he has never played as a full professional so having international caps should be above his level.

Yea this guy from st kitts came in arrogant as hell. We had guys from both Jamaica and Trinidad with youth international games. He would be in the middle of the field and try chipping passes over defenders heads to guys like 5 yards away. His touch was Ok but that was about it. I don't know what the coaching is there.

The jamaican kid was an absolute beast. The kid from trinidad even better, actually drafted by an mls team the next year. Never panned out. Which made me realize how bad I am. And also how good guys like DCL or whoever that I'll constantly criticize.

It really is amazing once you get a little taste of it and can really start to put things in perspective.

I never really played with any Puerto ricans which is surprising considering I'm from NY. They're all so baseball heavy here though. What was his skill set like?

I played with a lot of solid mexican immigrants. The kids I played with from the islands all had great touches, they'd dribble through a side. Then try to shoot and put it like 5 yards wide. My coach was from Brazil. It was always confusing to him and the few white kids we had on the team who played.

Funny thing is he was a goalkeeper. But in the field he was better than most people I played with. Decent keeper though. I couldn't beat him without it being a tap in that's for sure. Amazing how good people even at semi-pro level can be.
