10/11/17 TWAIN CRUSH DAY
There is not even a decent rumour about us at the moment, as if even the tabloid hacks can't be arsed maing stuff up as the whole world knows we are skint.

Very annoyed, its just another boring summer for us but i also think that their isn't much value for money at the moment. Is there anyone in particular that you would of liked which we could of attracted if we had the money? I can't think of anyone to be honest.

very annoyed !!! it surley cant keep going on like this without or league pos suffering, cahill 31, neville 33, distan 33, saha 32, osman 30, even hibbo is 30 all these players will need replaceing soon ish and unless we have good enough young player coming through season after season we will slip futher down the table until we go down

No point in getting annoyed till the transfer window closes on september the 1st.
The clowns on kipper were in meltdown and the window had only been open 8 hours.
I kid you not.

A little bit.

It's depressing being an Everton fan over the Summer... I follow the team, not the news, so I don't know what the deal is with Kenwright, the board, funds etc. It iss disheartening seeing smaller clubs splashing out on a wide range of players when all we seem to be doing is giving ourselves a good selection of goalkeepers to use - once they're old enough.

Both the posts below the original are excellent.

We can't deny that we have an aging squad that needs replacing, but it appears we also have common sense because everyone is going for stupid amounts of money - although Charlie Adam went surprisingly cheaply in my view.

Still, I'd rather make this THE very last season this squad is together, then we must see try and replace these veterans without doubt.

I'm very down the middle on these, you see other clubs buying players in but then you look at it and notice how basically all have overpaid for mediocre talent.

I'd be more annoyed if the transfer window was closed and we didn't make any improvement to the squad. As it is, a few weeks into it and people are fuming as if its the end of the world. Well, the world will keep turning, the sun will come up and Everton will still march onwards. Or am I being too optimistic for an Evertonian?

yes the market is over price but sooner or later we will have to make signings to replace these vetrans, like you said the is prob the last season with this sqaud so next summer will be critical

Ask me when it's shut. If we haven't made any signings by then I will be fuming. In the meantime I am just meh.

I think the 100 ducks would win the fight. If I wasn't expecting the transfer window to be like this and if the previous few transfer windows weren't so absolutely sh1te, then I'd be fuming. But it's going exactly as expected unfortunately.

Just who, ( realistically) have we missed out on?

Demba Ba. Moyes hasn't publicly commented that he's 'after' anyone in particular.

Ba came along, we had a go and made an offer which fit into our structure, it wasn't enough for him or his 'people'.

The one player I'm personally disappointed we didn't go for was David Vaughan. Out of contract, low wages, Blackpool's key player last year.

If there is genuine interest in Fellaini or Rodwell, in fact i'd be actively seeking to sell them now, avoid the inevitable contract wrangle with Felli. £15m or so each, £30m at Moyes disposal and we *could* challenge the top 6. As it is, we just won't, the spending of teams below us is becoming alarming. Ironically they sold "key" players too to get that money and seem better prepared for the new season than us.

Even if we only sell one of them and bring in N'Zogbia and a decent striker, its 2 fresh faces, and renewed optimism about the club ahead of the new campaign. Because as it is, we keep them both and everyone's feeling rather "meh".

I'm absolutely livid. Not so much with this window, but in the context of the last 4, all the "I want my new signings in ready for pre-season" rhetoric that we were given at the end of the season has really wound me up.
