Hooliganism Era.

I got chased through Moss Side after Maine Road pearls ago by what at the time I thought was 'a firm'.

Looking back they were well after my Troop trainees.

I hate everything associated with football hooliganism, from the thugs who describe themselves has football fans, to the way they can affect the innocent. We know each club has an hooligan element, but if i had anything to do with it, i would string them all up by the balls and tell them to grow up.

So basically your ****ging off most of Everton fans in the 60's, 70's and 80's?

My Dad has told me quite a few stories and he says it was the majority back then.

If you like, yes. Football Hooligans know little or nothing about the game because they are only interested in one thing and one thing only. If they like fighting so much, why dont they just take up boxing or something? I will tell you why they would'nt, because boxing involves a one on one situation whereas hooligans can only fight in groups. String them all up or brand them on the forehead for life so we can identify them.

My Dad says that most went the match for football and the fighting. It was a normal matchday routine apparently, the majority did it at Goodison and away from home.

it was an angry britain at that time as well though, the age group that would look for something to do happened to all be into football. none of this cctv then and mobile meet ups, there'd be tons arriving in places at the same time so unruliness would ensue. the football special trains would be carrying a fair number so when they arrived a place would get swamped. a bit like when you was in the streets of liege.

there was always a chance of gettin' legged when goin' on the normal trains, the tube tunnels in euston were horrendous, so there was always that edge.

most just looked at the unruliness as a laugh, a bit like aways now cos there seems to be a lot around my age who wouldve been going away then. there's a lot of lids as well though.
