This is the same mirror who yesterday were still claiming that the matter was sorted out at half time which we knew was totally false when the club reported the incident after the game as manager, player & director of football went to the referee personally.

Maddocks incorrect matter of fact reporting is irresponsible at best & that’s being generous.

Everton need to ban that paper from Goodison for openly telling agenda driven lies against the club.

There is footage of Holgate angrily telling the referee that Firmino called him the 'N' word. So the son of a whore thing has no relevance really. Unless they find a camera angle of that exact word nothing will happen.

Very true. Another camera angle which captures the incident entirely is key. If reports today are true and the referee has written in his match report that he didn't hear any racist abuse then there isn't really anything else to go on.

Another issue about the camera angle, there is no way Holgate would know at the very moment Firmino cant be seen on TV, lets say he didnt do it and at that moment his face was on camera, would Holgate really make something up knowing full well for all he knew Firmino was on camera? no chance

Suarez admitted to using derogatory language (eventually), but he tried to argue that in context (where he comes from etc etc) the words he used weren't racist. If he had just denied outright that he used any such language who knows how that case would have played out. The RS will keep their cards firmly close to their chest for now- unless something forces their hand.
