Isn’t he part-owner too? Thought that was one of the reasons he didn’t stay longer as Caps coach.
I loved Turgeon. What a player he was

He and his brother Mark are the co-owners of the Knights along with Basil MacRae. I think the main reason he didn't stay long as the Caps coach is he prefers to teach and coach younger players who will listen instead of established pros -- read Ovechkin -- who were set in their ways and tuned him out. It's no secret he and Ovie were not on the same page and there was only going to be one winner in that case.

Yeah, that cheap shot on Turgeon was beyond ugly. But people where I live love him for turning the London Knights into a perennial major junior powerhouse as well as coaching Canada to the world junior title a couple of weeks back. And he's the only NHL player to score at least 1,000 career points and have at least 3,000 penalty minutes. Takes some doing, that.

Tie Domi didn't make that mark?

Hockey is a good game but it should be far more unruly and violent. The whistle is always blowing for some petty indiscretion.

Ice Hockey is better but the puck should be much bigger and coloured red so I can see it.

Can I interest you in some Fox Sports?

You played or coach(ed) yourself, right? Which NHL teams (if any) do you follow?

(Asking, knowing full well you probably already wrote such in this thread, but CBA reading 5 pages of old posts)
Can't skate to save my life mate, but many moons ago I reported on ice hockey for magazines, the BBC and Sky here in the UK, and GM'd a team here for a couple of years too.
As for favourite teams, had a soft spot for the old Hartford Whalers, but was mesmerised by the Detroit Red Wings when they had the fabulous "Russian Five" - got to see them a number of times in Detroit and elsewhere, incredible bunch of individuals who - for my money - were perhaps the best team ever assembled. Yzerman, McCarty, Hasek, Osgood, Lidstrom, Shanahan, Chelios etc etc - a genuine All-Star team ;)

Those Scotty Bowman teams were good. Easy to hate, but had to admire them too. Never hated them as much as the Avs, but they were a close 2nd.
