He's coming back from a bad injury so will have to wait and see. He was a tidy played at Villa but nothing too flash. As you've said boss dig. If he does prove his fitness then he'll be cover at best, nothing to get excited about I reckon.

I agree but I feel like at the time we can get excited about even strenghtening our second string as it improves the likelyhood of Everton silverware so I'm all for these kinds of signings.

Don't play 50 games for Germany if you're a bad player. If the lad gets fit, he'll be a great acquisition in a position that needs some cover.

By the sounds of what Steve Round said, It seems we must already have a contract agreed, In place for if he can actually prove his fitness.

How is it 'all he has' He's a proven leader, Very good on the ball, He dictates tempo, His passing range long, and short, Is very very good. You don't get fifty caps for germany by 'just having a good shot' Davek, Stop with your negative posting ALL the time.

I said, 'as far as I'm aware', mate. He might be a decent all-rounder, but I've never associated the art of midfield play with the feller. He's always just been in the background of my consciousness as a player who's capable of having a dig from distance.

Cough Mertesacker Cough. Cough Ziege Cough. Cough Paulo Rink Cough.

Actually I'll just say it Germany circa 2000-2005 were an awful awful team. And I know they reached a world cup final, I stand by my remarks.

Ziege wasn't a bad player just a kop****e. Mertesacker is fine, not great but fine, And I for the life of me do not know Rink.

And Hitzlesperger didn't get his first cap til 2004, so he can't be banded in the 200-2003 group.

I don't know if he will be a great player for us and the guy did have a bad injury.

From what I gather he did have a full range of passes. Was ok with Villa, knows the premiership.

He could be a very useful squad player to have to enable us to rest players or as replacement for when others get injured.

Wiki:

"A fluent speaker of English, he acquired an unusual Birmingham/German hybrid accent during his spell at Villa".

Nein Danke.
