Two were from the edge or inside the box (hardly distance) and the other two were meant to be crosses, one of which he hit into his own standing leg. Neville was 20 yards out the other day with no one for miles around and chose to turn round and play a square 5 yard pass. Surely you can't say he's a distance shooter?

Pienaar doesn't really shoot from distance and neither does Baines to be honest, so I can see where this guy's coming from.

Gibson can have a dig and Mirallas seems to like a try from the edge of the box, but when you can't get there Hitzlesperger can belt them from fully 30.
I suppose it depends what you mean by 'distance' The fact is that we have lots of players capable of long distance shooting...although I did suspect last season that they were discouraged from tring for some reason. The number of times we pass instead of shoot is not good...although we are shooting more now.

50caps for Germany...or am I remebering incorrectly....decent player when fit....I suppose since Saha's departure the Physio's room is a tad empty.

Think he will be a great addition to the squad, devastating left foot as everyone has said. I've been trying to rack my brain, have we ever had a German play for us? I might be missing someone really obvious but I can't for the life of me think of any.

Wessels and Mustafi.

Der Hammer was in my local last night and I can tell you that several bitches where gushing everywhere, the floor was quite ice-rinkish.

I can see Thomas replacing Neville as team captain. He's got the experience and certainly could add more quality than Neville. Fitness will be the key factor.

His record of late has been very patchy... he's only played 23 games in 2 years. Is he fit enough? Is his touch up to standard, his fitness? What will he bring to the team? I
