Another Palace fan here.
Unlucky last night guys. Obviously I was delighted with the win but I like Everton and would far rather see them in the Champions League than Arsenal (yawn).
I think we surprised you with how resolute we were at the back combined with our pace on the break. We'd kept three clean sheets in a row going into last night's game (including one against Chelsea) so to score two past us was actually a good effort on your part, and but for Speroni it probably could've been more.
I desperately hope Arsenal slip up and you can complete your magnificent season on a high. I love Martinez and it'd be great to see him managing against the best in Europe.

I generally like Palace. They don't act like bad blurts like most southern teams do. I was disappointed in the number of fans you brought last night, considering it's your first season back up. However you made some decent noise, so far play to that. Hate all that ultra crap fans are doing though. Atmosphere at the match should be organic and not choreographed like some sort of macho musical.
Yeah mate, I agree, I still think Martinez has a bit to prove I think the real test will be continuity and developing his own team that will come as the next two transfer windows pass! Our situation reminds me of Arsenal when Wenger took over, inheriting a truly wonderfull set of gritty players and added a lot of quality to win their leagues, argue ably they never really hit those heights when Wenger was building his own teams, certainly they never really had that grit of the Bould, Keown, Adams, Winterburn, Dixon era! I know Campbell etc came along and they did have some success, but in the main they never really got over loosening that set up!
Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticising Martinez, I just think and he admits it himself he inherited a well coached set of players is areas of the pitch that his natural philosophey may not lend itself, just an observation that could be and hopefully wrong!

Good point, his defensive prowess has been mixed, keep the old guard 4, elevate Stones to first team as well..
That was all success, bring in Alkaraz.. err a year later and its still too early to tell... probably not success.
But at least with Stones and Coleman, at least half of that setup is known quality and here for a fair while.
To ensure quality, I guess the other two defenders to replace Distin and Jags will have to be top players, probably funded by the money we get from winning the league next year.

Never agreed with the simplistic Arsenal explanation for Wenger's success the players themselves owned up to going downhill, defence included, till he arrived.
He totally transformed that set up the addition of Viera and Petite protected the back line as did the emphasis on attack you could have played scunthorpes back line so few times did the opposition get through.
Wenger's problem was his ego. He developed this esoteric nonsense of copying Barca, he got a bee in his bonnet that playing an entire team of little skilful fellas would work here - madness - but his ego won't have it.
If he hadn't gone mad he would have been the greatest of all time.

Not many have brought more have they? Villa on a Saturday afternoon brought the same amount so for Palace fans to bring that many on a weeknight I thought was impressive.

Most away teams have brought poor numbers this season. So Palace have certainly brought more than clubs bigger than themselves. How many teams have sold out their full allocation this season? Must be about 3 maybe.
