Hoping his relatively big name will enable us to recoup close to 4 or 5 million. Put it this way if it was Liverpool selling he'd be a 7 million player, so hopefully a big club will come in for him.

If he's willling to move to Turkey or somewhere east of there then we could get a good price for him. Other than that I think we are stuck with him on the bench as I don't see RM changing the back line anytime soon.

Get shot of him, he doesn't want to be here and we pretty much don't need him. If some Russian club that likes splashing money around like water doesn't come in for him then try and ship him back to Holland. He's a big name player over there and has been a regular in the national side for ages, someone will have him surely. I'd like about £5m ideally but even if we're offered about £3m I'd probably take that. Cut our losses and say goodbye.

Therein lies the rub, they would pay him silly money, not us.

We would have to take a big loss on the transfer fee difference. Some may say that's worth it, others may not!

Really doubt we'd get £5m but even £3m could help us get a good midfielder.

If anyone thinks we will be getting 5m for a player who didn't play much last season and when he did he pooped a brick while being on a contract with one year remaining they are kidding themselves.
