Have we over hyped our own squad?

He said get in the squad. Which, for a kid of his age, I believe he would.

The thread title and overriding question is “have we overhyped our own squad”. According to you a player with two senior appearances for us would get in the squads of the top 6. That’s what I call overhyping.

Always looking for the bargains are Everton. The only one we had to pay top dollar for was Gylfi. The rest were either cast offs or the going rate or cheapies - Gueye, Sandro.

We never learn.

I couldn't stand Stones and Rom but we got rid of them without adequate replacements. Then marginalising Barkley and Delefeou. Literally the four biggest talents we had.

Martina, Rooney and Keane were shonky signings.

Klaassen and Sandro ain't played in position at all.

Pickford looks good, but hardly an upgrade on Robles. But he is young and will get better. And needs a defense in front of him.


As for Gylfi. We paid overs, we had far greater problems then signing another CAM, and neglected CB, LB and a decent CF. He is a good player but lacks the zing and doesn't add near as much from open play as people thought he did.

Klaassen and Sandro need to play and be given a go in their actual position. But apparently that excuse only applies to players who have solididied themselves as fan favourites.

I think we all realise that we have the most unbalanced squad in the league.

We knew months ago that we would be in trouble this season.
