Has it all gone a bit wrong?

Spot on that. He's got a Herculean task coaching these players to have confidence in their own ability to keep the ball.

It's not Dave. We played as well as any side in Europe for three months or so last year. He's not coaching the blind school.

If there is anything to sooth my mood its definitely that gif.

We are talking about Martinez bringing his style of football to a group of guys who played defensive minded hoofball with the tendency to be played out of position for many a year.

It worked for Moyes for the most part but we were lacking in areas. Even when we tried to play football we would revert back and some of our better players seemed not to like playing in certain positions. Moyes zapped the life out of strikers also so its no surprise we look week up front now.

Now we are talking about a complete change of style and formation with this group. Of course its going to take sometime. That and it seems Martinez has been checking out every player so far. I don't think we have played our best 11 for any of the games so far.

Its preseason this is the time i would prefer him to get it wrong.

Lets give the guy a chance.

Jesus bungle I thought I was the worst moaner in the world when it comes to Everton, we have been playing some decent teams and experimenting a lot, experiment now than in important games!!
I have actually seen more good than bad as a posed to bad than good with the so called moyesiah.

Give the lad a chance, keep the Fellaini money until January to see where we really need it and give some of them kids some game time.

Who the hell do we play in central midfield in that case??

the season hasn't even start yet FFS!

His style will take time to blend in and anyone who though Martinez was going to turn up and with a click of the finger we would be all passy passy and looking great need to get a ****ing grip.

PRE-SEASON IS NOT IMPORTANT

Norwich away is all that matters, ****ing madrid, juve and valencia and everyone else, they dont matter.

Probably play the same player in central midfield we played last year, and it wasn't fellaini in the 30 games I managed to watch?

BTW, we played West Ham off the park last home game of the season. Superb football, loads of movement and everything Martinez sides do.

I prefer him to Moyes all day. But we'd look a bit daft if we kidded ourselves he teaching Donkeys to be Racehorses.

Yes, that's just it though. Three months playing with purpose and freedom...then when the first sign of pressure comes Moyes had the team dumping the ball upfield asap- and they were relieved to use it. It's that type of security blanket Martinez is attempting to take away from this squad of players. 'Uncoaching' that mentality is an enormous task.

He needs time, we have played 5 pre-season friendlies and fan's are getting on the new managers back already.

He has been trying things out and trying players in different roles, I think we will see an improvement on Sunday against Betis, and a big difference against Norwich.

We need to back him, not put him down already.

I agree. But coaching the skills to pass and move isn't. They already have them. He doesn't need to re-teach them basic football. We don't need to be giving him seasons to coach things they already know.

Changing the mentality and improving tactical awareness and flexibility is what he needs to bring to the table. The rest is already there.
