it's the first thing that comes into your head isn't it. he surely has plenty of money and i'm sure good connections within the game.

at the other extreme with transfer fees and agent fees ( 7 million to one buck we know of). it seems very strange that a communities club can go under for, in relative terms, such a small amount.
you'd think if there was a football tax on transfers to go into a pot to help clubs who are in trouble , that would solve the problem .

To be fair to stelling here.

It may only be 200k bit if he put his hand in his pocket for every single 200k the club needed then he would essentially be an owner without any authoritory.

It has to fall on the board either way, can't expect your one famous fan to bail you out every single time

Edit- quick Google suggests it is poor ownership so can't expect Jeff to bail out a crap board just because he is a fan

And to a certain extent other fans etc or Middlesbrough and Sunderland which has been mentioned. It's 200k now then it will be 200k again soon if not sorted out.

What a shame famous fan Jeff Stelling is skint and doesn't have a net worth of around four to five million, somewhat made off the back of overreacting to Hartlepool goals both scored and conceded for over a decade. They could have asked him.

Spot on, he's a tight smug faced bar steward !!

Donate it, no problem or red tape, easy peasy !!

And what about the next time? Another 200k?

That's the point, if he pays for the boards crap running of the club then it's costing him for no real benefit. Whereas if they did go into administration he could then use the contacts to help put a board capable in place which is better suited

Difficult to know what is right here.

Have the jepordised their own future by mismanagement of funds?

Or is it unfortunately a casualty of the modern game?

without sorting the ownership out it isn't worth giving any money to them - get the fans to take over, then support it
