Harsh against Moyes but now seen the light?

Forgive me, this is a Moyes thread, so why on Earth did you list trophys that were won before he was in charge?

The arguement is that trophies dont mean anything, its no disgrace not to win a trophy, and that all the big clubs who spend win them.

That's not the case with the league cup, yet we havent won it.

Not comparing Moyes to past winners, just putting it into context that not all top clubs have won something.

I understand that people want to see trophies...but how realistic is that with the transfer budget available to who ever manages Everton. I remember clearly these old days of how things went before Moyes arrived. I know it has been mentioned before...and that people say they appreciate what has been done by him but he can not take us any further. However...honestly...player for player...do we have a trophy winning squad...do we have a squad that is under performing or over performing...that's a question that remains to be answered but my money is on that we over performed most of the time although now I do feel we can truly start challenging for Europe.

The heart of the squad is still there and intact whilst the youngsters are getting more experienced effectively adding to the squad as well as Jelavic, Naysmith as well as possible signing in Pienaar etc. This might be the year for us. However...looking back to those years before Moyes arrived I realized that due to Moyes and what he has done at Everton people are expecting trophies...where before I literally were praying for draws for us to to survive at times.

Davek and those wanting more...I do understand your frustrations...believe me I'm also frustrated at time...but the main problem is not Moyes in my opinion. Give him the tools...ie Transfer Budget...just half of what the average budget for top 6 are...and then afterwards we can criticize.

But that's just it: he wont get the tools. He's in a job that pays so well precisely BECAUSE he wont get the tools to push on. That's the pact with the board. The understanding.

David Moyes - treading water and supping with the devil since 2009.

Read my previous post, clubs far worse off than us with nowhere near our expectation (is THAT still true?) have won trophies. Clubs like Cardiff and Portsmouth have reached TWO cup finals, Portsmouth winning one during the Moyes era.

If others can do it ..........

ahhhh! can't be arsed anymore it's all about survival for THIS generation just pissing against the wind saying sh1t like this, no wonder we can't fill GP.

I'm sorry but getting the free transfer of Naismith is not gonna change my mind of Moyes. It will require a hell of a lot more I'm affraid.

I get what you're saying but most of those clubs got lucky. Mcleish, Mclaren (had money from Gibson), Souness (still riding on players bought with Walkers money), etc.

It wasn't like most of those managers are better than Moyes but going by people that only judge success on winning cups then all of the above 3 managers are better than Moyes, which I find hard to believe.

If "luck" is the deciding factor why are people so desperate to keep Moyes?

Going into his 11th season the one thing to grasp from that theory is he isn't lucky. Further, if it's about luck it matters not a jot who is in charge, just buy a load of horse shoes, lucky heather get a cheaper man in and put the savings in the transfer kitty.

Fair?

Of course not, the whole premise is garbage from the get go - 10 yrs is enough.

I like Moyes but I dont treat him as a God.

People seem to confuse my saying that their are other managers out there who can do a good job for us as meaning that I dont rate Moyes or something and thats nonsense.

Anyone who doesnt rate him is an Imbecile. However anyone who thinks the club will die if we were to ever lose him as also rather idiotic.
