There's no way Roy is dropping his captain, he tried Rooney on the left in the World Cup and look what happened and going 4-4-2 in an international tournament is something Martinez would do. However I suppose Roy has always been a 4-4-2 man so maybe this might allow him to go screw it and just go for it. With England's defence I can't see them keeping too many clean sheets anyway.

I hope he does go 4-4-2 with Townsend on the left, Walcott on the right with Henderson and Barkley in midfield for Italy. I want to see Barkley up against the very best in that position and see how good Kane actually is. They may as well try it now given the injury list to see if it would work. If England get hammered then it's probably best leaving Kane as an impact player.

He could just use a diamond, you know, like he has for half the qualification campaign.
 

This time next season, he will have 5 league goals and struggling to get a game at Spurs. With the media saying build a team around whoever is currently in form !!

Or they'll sell him to another team for silly money and buy yet another squad full of prospects from the Footy Manager database with the profits, finish mid-table, sack the manager, rinse & repeat

If you can call the 6th place we have averaged over the last decade mid-table you are bang on.
