2025/26 Harrison Armstrong

….never a doubt we have a player on our hands, point is whether these two loan spells have speeded his development or would he have been better staying with us.

I’ve never been the biggest fan of our best academy youngsters going on loan but the situation has changed with new ownership. We can pay £20m and bring in more of the finished article like Rohl and let this lad catch up playing regularly in a very competitive environment.

Delighted and not surprised Moyes was at Deepdale last night.

I've just taken a look in the Preston forum on his player thread and unless @Joey66 has set up 30 multis it seems like we have quite the player on our hands. Talks of Bellingham, a nailed on England starter and not being with us long when he comes back. Excitable bunch.

….they’ve had Beckham and Gordon on loan so could be decent judges.

PNE are my local side and, in the main, the fans are very fair-minded in their game analysis win, lose or draw. But they are absolutely raving about Armstrong who has now been their MOTM on several occasions this season already. And even when he hasn't been he is there or thereabouts.

Think we have a new 'diamond' in our armoury for next season and the cut and thrust of the Championship will bring him on more quickly than being an occasional bit part player with us in the Prem. And he is still developing physically.

Check out the match thread. Beast, monster, best player in the division - just some of the things said about him.

….i was talking to him literally days before he went out & he said he had no idea what was happening at that point so it must’ve been a late call. I imagine the acquisition of Rohl was key in making that decision.

No idea if we have a recall option for January but given the position he played last night, I’d wonder if he’s currently a better option than Dibling.

Dibling is being used on the wing, Armstrong didn’t play on the wing last night, confusing sentence.

I think the loan has been the best way for him to develop. A full season in the Championship making a difference for a club who'll probably go close to making the play offs will give him the confidence to know that he can play with the big boys. I think him and Rohl will be our centre midfield for years to come with hopefully Garner and Tim being in and around it too

….not a conventional winger last night but right side. I know PNE play a different system but I’m more thinking Armstrong is very versatile and could be more effective than Dibling.
He was right side of central midfield, they play wing backs so he wasn’t wide, but was covering that side
Against Birmingham he was on the left side

I think for us, him right, rhol left and a new brilliant number 6. As part of a midfield 3 Could be interesting
