The rumours about Kelvin Phillips coming in, albeit from very poor sources, are worrying. He's washed, in my opinion, and would be yet another barrier to Armstrong getting in to the side.

….i think the Rohl signing was key in sending Armstrong on loan. Pay £20m for a player further along in his development.

It’s difficult for young players to break into the top flight but I still believe they do so if they’re especially talented.

Hardly a secret that mate, two days before the deadline Moyes was openly saying he was undecided about Armstrong’s loan, if Rohl hadn’t have come in he’d have stayed. From Armstrong’s view it then became the best option for him because his chances of playing were further reduced.
