In all seriousness I think a large part of why this forum does so well is due to a really high percentage of Americans. Near enough all of them to a man or woman are genuinely wonderful blues. Your forefathers would be proud.

'Tis true. The Americans on here are a large part of why it is so bi-curious and food-obsessed. Have a grand time bbq-ing (or whatever it is that you do today).

I still think you made a massive mistake leaving the motherland and in the long term you'll regret it and ask to come back. You'll be welcome of course you just need remember: to stop being so damn optimistic, winning stuff is undignified and the weather is the only acceptable conversation starter
 

I always remember an American tell me on holiday once; we make better hosts than we do guests.

I always say to people who are negative about the USA to visit there as I'm sure once they do they will get what the place is about.

The things I like best are the sheer friendliness and warmth of the people, hospitality is a national pastime. I also love the optimism, Britain can be so cynical and negative so its refreshing.

Despite being a left wing commy, I also live their national pride. Its infectious.

That's enough compliments anyway you fat war mongering beauts.
 
I work for an A massive American company so of course I'm naturally grateful , still no luck in getting them to pay for me to go over on a "work" assignment.
Will go whatever, one day, would love to do the drive from East to west thing , ideally on a Harley , realistically a Hertz Hire car

I just love you all. People going anti-American for their government's decisions are ludicrous. I don't think much of their government but I don't like anyone's government so I must be anti-everybody. Great posters on here and the people I've met in the flesh were cool as too. Especially those I worked with a few years back. Lisa from Seattle, John from NY, MaryJo from San Jose.

Qatar over the USA for World Cup 2022 still irritates me. I was all set for the summer of a lifetime.

I've been there myself for 5 months on the old BUNAC scheme. A top country to visit for peeps who are thinking about it.
